The recordings are played once. Parts 1–2 use everyday social situations; Parts 3–4 use educational and training situations. Questions follow the order of information in the recording.
1Parts 1 and 2
Listen to a two-person conversation and a one-person talk in everyday social contexts.
2Parts 3 and 4
Listen to a discussion in an educational setting and a one-person talk on an academic subject.
3Question Types
Practice multiple choice, matching, plan/map/diagram labelling, completion tasks, sentence completion, and short answers.
IELTS uses the same Listening test for Academic and General Training. Paper testing includes 10 minutes to transfer answers.
